Electronic Prescription Service

If you get regular prescriptions, the Electronic Prescription Service (EPS) may be able to save you time by avoiding unnecessary trips to your GP. EPS makes it possible for your prescriptions to be sent electronically to our pharmacy. This means you'll no longer have to collect a paper repeat prescription from your GP practice, instead, you can come straight to our pharmacy to pick up your medicines.

Medicines Use Reviews

A Medicines Use Review is a face-to-face consultation between yourself and your pharmacist to discuss your medicines, both prescribed and non-prescribed. The review aims to help increase your knowledge and understanding of your medicines, including how and why they should be taken. It also provides an opportunity to highlight any issues, side effects or other medicine-related problems and propose solutions where appropriate.

New Medicine Service

When you're prescribed a new medicine to treat a long-term condition, we will give you extra help and advice about your medicine.

Sometimes you can have problems when you start a new medicine but there is no need to worry as we will support you over several weeks to use the medicine safely and to best effect.

The service is available to anyone living in England and have been prescribed a new medicine for the following conditions,

  • Asthma
  • Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD)
  • Type 2 diabetes
  • High blood pressure
  • People who have been given a new blood-thinning medicine

If you do not fall under the above categories, you can still get support and advice from our pharmacist. Just contact us and we’ll be more than happy to help.

Smoking Cessation Service

We offer a free local Stop Smoking Service which consists of one-to-one support along with all the necessary Nicotine Replacement Therapies required to aid you in your journey in becoming a non-smoker. The service has been developed by experts and ex-smokers and is delivered by our trained in-house professionals who will provide expert advice, support and encouragement to help you stop smoking for good. Studies show that you're four times more likely to quit with our help.

Minor Ailments Service

The minor ailment scheme is designed to help you with minor health conditions and to access medicines and advice you would otherwise visit their doctor for.

It allows you to be seen by your local Pharmacist and means you do not need to wait for a GP appointment or queue up for a valuable A&E slot with a non-urgent condition.

Some of the ailments that may be treated under the scheme include:

  • Colds
  • Coughs
  • Diarrhoea
  • Earache
  • Hay fever
  • Head lice
  • Nappy rash
  • Sore throat
  • Teething

Flu vaccination

We offer the Flu vaccination every year to help protect you and your family from flu and its complications. Flu can be unpleasant, but if you are otherwise healthy it will usually clear up on its own within a week, however, flu can be more severe if you fall into the following categories:

  • Anyone aged 65 and over
  • Pregnant women
  • Children and adults with an underlying health condition
  • Anyone with weakened immune systems

If you fall within these risk groups you are more likely to develop potentially serious complications of flu, so it's recommended that you have a flu vaccine every year to protect yourself.

Emergency Hormonal Contraception (The Morning After Pill)

If you've had unprotected sex or your usual contraception has failed you will be worried about becoming pregnant and will need emergency contraception. We can help. Emergency Hormonal Contraception (The morning after pill) is available for women up to a maximum of five days after unprotected sex. The sooner you take the morning after pill after unprotected sex, the greater the chances of avoiding pregnancy. The morning after pill is intended for emergency use and should not be used on a regular basis.

We will prepare all your medication, working closely with your GP to ensure you receive the correct dose at the correct time on the correct day.
